Jutland Art Academy presents an Artist Talk with the Swedish Visual Artist Kajsa Dahlberg, where she will discuss her artistic practice and her research project which examines how non-human life forms and behaviors are embedded in man-made manifestations of visual culture.

About the Artist

Kajsa Dahlberg (b.1973 in Gothenburg, Sweden) lives and works in Oslo. Informed by queer feminist theory, Dahlberg’s work investigates the specific relationships between filmic, or graphic, inscriptions of bodies, human as well as non-human, and the mechanisms through which these become disciplinary forces in our societies. Dahlberg studied at Malmö Art Academy and was a fellow at Whitney Independent Study Program, New York. Dahlberg studied at the Art Academy in Malmö 1998-2003 and was a studio fellow at the Whitney Program in New York 2007-08. She is currently a PhD researcher at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. Dahlberg’s work has been shown in solo exhibitions at the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Roskilde, Parra & Romero in Madrid, Lunds Konsthall and Index in Stockholm. Her work has also been shown in group exhibitions and at biennials such as 8 Bienal do Mercosul, Manifesta 8, GIBCA 2019 and Moderna Museet in Stockholm.
