Mette Hammer Juhl

Mette Hammer Juhl (b. 1987) graduated from Central Saint Martins in London and works as a visual artist, filmmaker, set/exhibition designer, curator and teacher in Denmark and internationally.

Through film, scenography, sound, installation, reliefs and prints, she works with how what haunts us, what disappears, what we believe in and what we long for shapes our reality. What happens when the absent becomes present?

In 2023, she and Louise Tandrup Esbensen took over the project Country Town, which is now a project house and artist residence that creates space for artistic production and exchange in West Jutland. From 2010 - 2013 she was part of the project site Auto Italia South East in London and from 2014-2015 she was co-founder of the project site Whoa Now (2014- 2015) in Copenhagen.
