The teaching at the MultiLab is based on a practice-oriented approach that aims to give students insight in and practical experience with a range of technical disciplines. It is an invitation to try out and become familiar with the workshop’s machines and the use of different materials. In our Open MultiLab, students have the opportunity to receive individual guidance and assistance with technical aspects of the production of their works. The MultiLab hosts courses on techniques and technologies; these span a wide range of subjects, covering old as well as new methods and technologies. Examples include courses such as ‘Lost wax’, where students work with wax while exploring a particular casting technique, and ‘How to use 3D printer’, which allows students to create three-dimensional objects by means of a 3D printer.
